RIGHT OR WRONG?
We face decisions every minute of every day. Some small and insignificant, it would seem, and others life altering and exponentially significant. Often we are guessing at outcomes and looming in the background of each decision is the fear of making a mistake. The concept of mistakes is something we learn early on in our childhood either through how our parents discipline us or at school where we are lunged into academia which is primarily based on testing. The concept of mistakes becomes so engrained in us from childhood that most of us are programed to view life as a contest of rights and wrongs. Has anyone ever told you that whatever you choose you made the right decision? Hard to accept even hearing that isn't it? Well let's consider this notion for a moment...
Most of us view choices like chess moves considering "if this then that" like a ripple effect and so on. Obviously, there is no question that one series of events does affect the outcome of the consequent series of events. That is not really the issue I am addressing here. The issue I am addressing is how we perceive, address and with what amount of assurance we make our decisions. What I am suggesting is that if you decide from a place of honesty and personal truth, any and every choice that complies with your core beliefs (what you stand for and believe) it will lead you down the path to truth, growth and wisdom. Hence eliminating the fear of the perennial "what if". No longer would you need to regret a choice or wonder if things could have been different because you know in your hearts of hearts that you decided from a place of conviction and not out of fear.
Imagine a world/life without regrets, no fear (not gonna quote Lennon its too easy and not where this is headed). A world/life shaped by conviction. A world/life of choices made with the assurance that whatever path or outcome it leads to you are confident and fearlessly headed towards your truth, wisdom and ready and eager to grow along the way. It's just a concept and although I'm not going to take credit for it I will say I have adopted the concept.

S/N this week I intentionally left out the musical application of this message/concept. If you were able to see how it applies to your playing or music please share it in the comments. Just curious to see how it was interpreted.

DISCLAIMER: Not unlike most of the guitar lessons I give these days, I try to not only impart music wisdom but life lessons as well. In that spirit I would like to submit this blog for more than just its musical implications but moreover in a broader sense of how it applies to life as a whole. That being said..... I am in no way claiming to tell anybody how to live their life rather sharing what I've experienced in mine. Well that was a mouthful, anyways back to blogging.....
